Best sound bar none
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the soundbar to complement the LG C3 OLED TV I purchased last year. I've been very happy with the soundbar so far. The TV sound with AI optimisation was pretty good anyway, but now I have the soundbar it's further optimised my viewing experience, especially when watching sports and films.
The fact that the soundbar neatly integrates into the TV stand was a definite plus point. Cables are hidden away tidily. I suppose the only downside is that if I add anything to my setup I'll have to lay the TV down again and remove screws to gain easy access to the ports.
The soundbar was well packaged, and in spite of a small dent in the cardboard during delivery the contents were well protected. I needed a rather large space to lay everything out. I wasn't expecting the box to be quite so big!
The sub and soundbar have a contemporary design and are almost a gunmetal colour.
I got a bit frustrated during setup trying to follow the diagram which wasn't at all clear. It showed four cables, but only came with 3 (2 power, 1 HDMI), but once I spotted I'd missed a QR code to a video setup that made things a whole lot easier. Having said that, I am still not sure if I used the power leads correctly. I went for the longer cable on the sub and the shorter one on the TV.
Once I'd got the cabling sorted I downloaded the LG Soundbar App so I could play with the configuration. I also went off to hunt connecting to TV videos as that wasn't super clear. All in all I think there should be a playlist of setup videos to make it simpler. Unboxing/connecting, configuring with the TV, getting the most out of the soundbar.
I hadn't really considered the benefits of using the soundbar as another speaker in the room so that was a pleasant realisation. I connected via Bluetooth and sampled top volume.

It's been a game-changer for my TV setup!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first experience delving into the world of soundbars and as a newcomer, I wanted to find one that would seamlessly complement my LG OLED C3 and enhance my audio experience.
Setup was straightforward, though connecting to the TV was initially confusing, and I had to resort to YouTube for clarification. Once synced, the audio quality, especially when paired with the subwoofer, was remarkable, amplifying the immersive experience of movies, music, and gaming. The wireless feature eliminated cable clutter, and the sleek design with touch-sensitive controls exuded sophistication. The LG Sound Bar app offered convenient control over various functions.
However, the sizeable subwoofer came with challenges as it took some rearranging to find a spot for it. Navigating settings was slightly annoying since there's no on-screen display, and the remote's functionality felt redundant compared to the app or TV remote.
Despite minor setbacks, the soundbar competes admirably with pricier options, enhancing home entertainment significantly. A worthy investment if you're looking to level up your home entertainment game!

Excellent sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really great soundbar with superb bass. The subwoofer works like magic. The connection was really easy and very quick. As my TV is desk mounted I didn’t had to use bracket provided but I am sure I will be using it in the future. The build quality of the material is really good.
The voice quality is really good and crisp. The way it works and integrate with the LG TV is great. The wow cast is exceptional and having no wire makes it look so compact and less clunky.
The packing was really good and sturdy as well.

Well made, easy to set up and fantastic performanc
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment you receive the delivery to hitting the first song or movie, you’re impressed with the quality. The item was packed well, although a one-page ‘quick start’ on top would have been nice. That said, its as easy as plugging in and connecting an HDMI cable to get up and running.
The device pairs so nicely with an LG tv – automatically pairs the remote control so the soundbar and TV remotes are interchangeable. The subwoofer automatically paired with the sound bar. It really was an absolute doddle to get up and running.
And then there’s the performance. I was previously really impressed with the sound quality of the speakers on my LG OLED tv but now, having added the sound bar, I could never go back. The depth of sound, the bass and the richness of audio is incredible. TV and Films suddenly come to life and music is just immersive – to the point I’ve stopped using my smart speaker for music and play it though the Sound bar now.
I don’t have the tv wall mounted, so had to change over the TV stand to accommodate the sound bar – this was a really nice touch and looks fantastic. Really ties the unit together and looks very slick indeed.
Toi date I’ve only used the Soundbar with the TV and connected to my phone via Bluetooth. I believe it also has integration with Spotify and generic Wifi capabilities which are nice touches I need to check out.
All in all, first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. Well made, easy to set up and fantastic performance.

Cinema sound at home. Finally.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own an LG 65qned866re tv and was already happy with the sound from the tv but this soundbar, the SC9, has taken it to another level.
At no point have I wondered what was being said in any film or game so far. Dialogue is always clear.
The bass speaker is not a constant rumble of sound but instead it actually does remind me of being at the cinema where, when the bass kicks in, it makes you feel the action without drowning out everything else.
I own both the ps5 and Xbox series x consoles. I have the sound bar connected to the tv using e-arc and one of the reasons I love this sound bar is that it passes through Dolby Vision gaming, 120fps etc from my Xbox to the tv with no issues at all.
There are a variety of sound options with the soundbar and I must admit some features I have not heard of before. What are DRC or Neural-X? I need to find out.
I tend to use the phone app to change some settings for the sound bar. I just find it easier to see what’s going on that way rather than use the included remote.
Although its taken me a few days to get comfortable with some of the features of the sound bar it is well worth it for the massive improvement it has made to my gaming and film experiences.. Looking to buy the rear speakers to really put me in the centre of all the action..
Advantages:
-Truly Cinematic sound.
-It’s been rewarding to play around and hear how each mode affects whatever you are watching.
-WOW Orchestra brings some real clarity to older films and dvds.
Annoyances:
-Somethings are not immediately intuitive. e.g WOW Orchestra switches off if you enable DRC or Neural-X when restarting the tv.
Dolby Atmos is not as good as I had hoped but I think it might need more tweaking on my side.

Amazing sound and incredible functionality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sound bar has truly impressed me set-up is easy.
The sound quality is great. I used to have an old 5.1 surround system but that really only provided truly surround sound when the rear speakers were set far behind me. This achieves better levels of immersiveness without the hassle of setting up rear speakers and my current TV room doesn't have space for that type of set-up.
I was able to connect it to my phone and WiFi via the LG soundbar app which I've found to provide a very useful GUI for the soundbar which was something I was a bit surprised to see the soundbar didn't have natively even though I'm using my LG C2 tv (which it specifically says its compatible with). The app allows you to easily connect the soundbar to various input sources including Bluetooth and Alexa as well as switch inputs, perform software updates and perforn auto sound calibration amongst many other functions.
I managed to wall mount it single handily using the boxed TV tray/ mount it looks neat being assembled to the TV which in turn is mounted to the wall using a 3rd party wall mount the soundbar doesn’t seem to affect TV angle or tilt. The sound only needs a couple of cables (power and HDMI both of which are provided) to get you going. The wireless subwoofer alsi worked straight away.
I also like the way it fits perfectly under my LG C2 55 inch TV. They complement each other nicely.
Finally the soundbar like the TV is beautifully and thoughtfully packaged lots of dropout and pull off cardboard boxes rather than having to slide the sub woofer out of a conventional box. Which may sound trivial but it really makes setting it up so easy.
My only concern is how tricky it may be to add inputs to the soundbar in the future as it screwed into the tray under the TV with limited access to the input ports.

A fantastic soundbar
Having not bought a soundbar in over 15 years, it was important to make the right choice. I like watching films, TV shows and gaming, so finding something that fits everything was fundamental and the LG came up as ticking all the boxes no matter what I wanted to throw at it. So, I dove in and bought it and I have not been disappointed.
It is an easy soundbar to plug in using HDMI eArc, and looks fantastic no matter the TV you use. I don't have an LG TV, but this doesn't have an impact on how brilliant this soundbar sounds. TV content is nice and clear, movies are punchy where they need to be and gaming is just superb.
One minor issue I had was pairing the soundbar to my smartphone on WiFi. This was easy to rectify using a 2.4Ghz network, however if you aren't familiar with how to do this you might have trouble connecting the smartphone application. However, once it was paired, it was flawless and gave some additional controls.
All in all, my first soundbar purchase in 15 years has gone very well, and I'm extremely happy with it. If you have an LG TV, you get an additional set of mounting options which is definitely something I'll be looking at when I come to buy my next TV.
