Product Information
The AVID Ingenium Plug&Play is an easy to use turntable from a top brand that's renowned for its sound quality.
Ready to play
The AVID Ingenium Plug&Play is a complete turntable, that’s ready to go within moments of unboxing. Supplied with a pre-aligned cartridge and tonearm, all you need to do is slide the counterweight into position and get set to enjoy award-winning sound.
Weighted sound
Key to the Ingenium Plug&Play’s powerful sound quality is AVID’s famous clamp design. The unique, screw-down clamp weighs the record down, letting vibrations pass through to the chassis. It lowers the vinyl’s surface noise, letting the stylus track the groove as accurately as possible. A further advantage with using a weighted clamp is that it flattens most warped records – further reducing the potential for stylus mistracking and distorted sound.
Low noise bearing
AVID’s engineering excellence continues with the inverted, single point bearing. The unique design has no lateral movement, meaning you get a silent backdrop, rather than the faint rumble noise that can afflict inferior decks. Less background noise lets you hear more detail from your vinyl.
Rigid chassis
Machined from solid aluminium, the heavyweight chassis connects the tonearm and platter with great rigidity, helping to promote a detailed and musical sound. Working in tandem with the clamp system, the chassis also sinks and dissipates any vibration from the record.
Isolated, by design
Keeping your turntable isolated from external vibrations, such as speakers or even an amplifier is vital for the lowest distortion. In some cases, the stylus could even skip if vibrations become too extreme. Fortunately, the AVID Ingenium uses one of the best vibration isolating materials in the business – Sorbothane. The bespoke compound is integrated into the deck’s feet, helping defeat any outside vibration from affecting the record’s playback.
Form follows function
Built to the highest standards, the Ingenium deck is a classic case of form following function. Nothing is superfluous to the design, with the result being a minimalist and timeless style that looks as good today as it will in the future.
Tonearm supplied
Coming complete with an AVID TA-1 tonearm, the Ingenium is fitted with its perfect partner. Like the chassis, the tonearm is constructed from aluminium, giving rigidity and excellent vibration absorbing properties. Ultra-low friction bearings let the tonearm move as seamlessly as possible across the record.
Cartridge supplied
Also supplied is the AVID CA1 Moving Magnet (MM) cartridge. The output suits a wide range of amps and phonostages, reinforcing the Plug ‘n Play status. It also comes fitted and aligned, taking away the fiddly process of fitting it for yourself.
Take it to the next level
Several options take the AVID ownership experience to the next level. Upgrade the platter from MDF to machined aluminium and you’ll enjoy greater musical precision. Place it on an AVID Platform and the isolation is further improved, making the sound even clearer and better defined. For decks kept outside of a cabinet, a specially developed dust cover is also available.
Enjoy premium vinyl playback, the easy way, with the AVID Ingenium Plug&Play.
