The ultimate integrated
The AVID Sigsum is perhaps the world’s ultimate integrated amplifier. Combining reference quality amplification, a phono pre-amp and headphone amp, it provides all the amplification your system needs in one, mighty casing. If you enjoy using speakers, headphones and a turntable on a regular basis, this amp provides the highest level of musical satisfaction from all, on an equal basis and all from a single box.
Effortless power for the most demanding music
Using an 1100VA power transformer and 132,000uF current storage to help deliver 110 watts power output, the Sigsum is no shrinking violet. What this means for the listener is an immense sense of musical grip and control. No matter how high the crescendo or how deep the bass, the Sigsum conveys music’s drama in its entirety. From the hardest-hitting dance tracks to full-blown orchestra, and everything in between, the Sigsum is always in complete control of the music.
Astonishing detail and refinement
Despite its undoubtable might, the Sigsum can be subtle and refined when the music demands, too. Drawing extensively from its reference pre/power amp models, the Sigsum has the clarity and dynamic detail to match the best at this price. Component quality is first-rate throughout, with the volume pot being of the very best available – the ALPS RK50 – which not only feels silky-smooth but also has a profound effect on sound quality.
Built-in Pulsus phono-pre for turntable connection
The phono pre-amp built into the Sigsum is of a very high quality in its own right. Adjustable between MM (Moving Magnet), MC (Moving Coil) low and MC high settings, it suits a vast range of cartridges. Furthermore, you can also adjust the capacitance and impedance loads to precisely suit your cartridge. Find your cartridge’s specs in its manual or online and adjust the switches to suit, giving you perfectly tailored sound.
Pro-quality XLR connectivity
Making the most of the widest range of sources, the Sigsum features balanced XLR inputs. More often used in professional studios, balanced connections are highly resistant to outside electrical interference and can be run over longer runs without signal loss. There are also two additional RCA phono line level inputs and RCA phono pre-outputs.
Precision style and user interface
The Sigsum’s design combines minimalism with industrial chic, creating a unique style all of its own. The heavy gauge, steel and aluminium construction is fabricated and etched with ‘AVID’ and ‘A’ symbols, for striking impact and leaving you in no doubt as to who makes this amazing amp. Tactile, metal volume and input selectors move smoothly and feel great to use, making the lack of a remote control far less of a hardship – especially when it sounds this good without.
Listen deep into the heart of your music, with the AVID Sigsum.
