Product Information
CD is not just back, it’s portable, with the FIIO DM13 BT.
Return of the CD portable
Whether you’re new to CD or have a cherished collection stretching back years, the FIIO DM13 BT makes the perfect player for music on the move. Just like CD portables of old, the DM13 BT uses electronic shock protection to ensure smooth playback on the go. Unlike older players, however, a raft of the latest technologies makes for a much more advanced player, with CD ripping, rechargeable battery and Bluetooth output just some of the extra features to be enjoyed.
The latest electronics for top quality sound
With their vast experience in portable Hi-Res music players, the DM13 BT makes for a top quality CD playback device. Featuring separate CS43198 DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertors) for left and right channels, along with amplifiers to match, the sound is amazing clear and detailed for such as small device.
Powerful sound
As well as sounding crystal-clear, the DM13 BT sounds far more powerful than it looks. High power headphone amps produce a signal that’s strong enough to optimise the sound from a wide range of wired headphones, meaning that you don’t miss out on the bass.
Compact size and ESP for music on the move
Designed to be as compact as possible, it’s easy to pop the DM13 BT in your bag – along with an old school CD wallet for your CDs, of course! Switchable ESP (Electronic Skip Protection) makes it ideal for using on a train or coach, where jolts might otherwise make the laser skip.
Rip your CD to WAV files via USB
Unlike CD portables of old, the DM13 BT has a USB interface for ripping to WAV. Simply connect to your PC, Mac or laptop* and rip the CD** to easily accessible WAV files*. Once recorded, it’s easy to share the files digitally, making it ideal for multi-room home entertainment.
*Only supports FAT32 formatted storage devices
**Only supports CD ripping of CDDA format
Wide range of playback modes, including gapless
For seamless playback, especially with Classical CDs, the DM13 BT supports gapless playback. It also includes a wide range of other playback modes that will be familiar to those with experience of older CD players. Loop playback lets you listen to the entire album or a single track on repeat. Random play and favourite track programming are also included.
Use with balanced or regular headphones
Another tech advance that the DM13BT takes full advantage of is the development of balanced headphones. With it’s 4.4mm balanced output, this highly specced player is fully compatible with top quality balanced headphones. There’s also a 3.5mm output for regular headphones.
3-in-1 outputs for connecting to your hi-fi
The DM13BT’s flexible nature continues with its 3-in-1 audio output. This single 3.5mm output socket connects to analogue, optical and coaxial digital inputs, making it ideal for connecting to all types of system. FIIO even include a 3.5mm – RCA convertor in the box, making it easy to connect to your exiting digital coaxial cable.
Made better with Bluetooth
Unlike portable CD players form the past, the DM13 BT also features a Bluetooth output. This makes it easy to pair with your Bluetooth headphones or speaker, giving you wireless versatility with your existing devices.
Modern battery technology for longer lasting playback
Since the dawn of the first CD portables, battery technology has moved on by leaps and bounds. There’s no need for a constant supply of AA batteries with this FIIO. Instead, the player uses a rechargeable cobalt lithium battery, with up to 10 hours playback time. When using with a USB power source, switch to D.MODE and the battery is bypassed, helping to prolong its life.
Premium look and feel
Made from aluminium, the DM13 BT looks and feels as good as premium CD portables costing hundreds of pounds decades ago. For the critical hinge mechanism, FIIO use precision-machined alloy components for long lasting durability.
Take your old CDs for a spin, with the FIIO DM13 BT.
