Designed as a one-stop shop for all your headphone and desktop pre-amp needs, the Fiio K17 is perfect for the headphone enthusiast. The fully balanced design suits a wide range of headphones, with ample power to drive even the most demanding. A wide array of digital and analogue inputs makes the K17 the perfect system hub, with pre-outs for connecting directly to powered speakers, as well. A comprehensive, touchscreen display and user-friendly control interface completes this masterful package.
Power to your headphones
For smooth, detailed sound, the K17 features a Class AB amp with discrete circuits. With high quality MJE243/253 transistors, it produces a high current, with low output impedance. The result is 4000mW+4000mW power output, which is more than enough to drive the most stubborn headphones and optimise the dynamic potential of any design.
High resolution sound
The K17 is about more than pure power, it’s about sound quality, too. At the heart of this Fiio desktop DAC/Amp is AKM’s flagship DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) technology comprising a multi-array – the AK4191 and 2 x AK4499EX. The two AK4499EX chips handle left and right channels. It uses separate digital and analogue sections and enhanced signal routing for the highest possible signal to noise ratio. This promotes a quieter backdrop for sensational detail and realism.
Tailor the sound to perfection, with PEQ
Using an M21586Q DSP (Digital Signal Processor) that’s complemented by a high performance ES9821Q ADC (Analogue to Digital Convertor) and customised crystal oscillator, the K17 ensures optimal performance from its 31-band PEQ (Parametric Equaliser). The lossless PEQ works in all modes and ensures the audio signal is of optimal performance, even after being processed. The result is sound that’s set to your preferences, without sonic compromises.
Choice of headphone outputs
As well as delivering the power to drive your headphones, the K17 also has the connectivity to match. For balanced headphones, the device has both 4.4mm and XLR4 outputs. Using a balanced signal between the source and headphones reduces noise and interference. For conventional headphone connectivity, a 6.35mm, single-ended socket is also standard.
Your system’s hub - use a desktop pre-amp
With no fewer than eight operating modes, the K17 effectively becomes the hub of your entire desktop audio system. Stream music via Bluetooth (aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LDAC) AirPlay or Roon Ready for top quality, wireless sound. Input digital sources, such as a CD player or streamer via optical or coaxial digital inputs. For analogue outputted sources there are balanced (4.4mm) and RCA phono inputs. The K17 also supports local playback via a USB flash drive. Thanks to the XMOS 16-core processor, Hi-Res music files up to 768kHz/32 bit and DSD512 are supported.

Keeping control of your K17 is easy. As well as using a simple facia switch layout and supplied remote control, the device also features a touchscreen display. The 3.93 inch LCD display gives you fast access to various settings and functions via touch.
Multi-protection circuits for peace of mind
For high reliability and peace of mind, the K17 uses an array of protection circuits. These include output DC and overload protection and power input overcurrent protection. Transformer temperature and headphone amp temperature protection ensure that both the amp and your headphones are protected at all times.
