Premium desktop system
The FiiO R9 has everything you need to be at the heart of a premium desktop audio system. Combining a transmitter, decoder, headphone amp, DAC and media player in one, you simply need to add headphones or active speakers and a wide range of music sources to enjoy all your media.
Android based operating system
Featuring an Android based operating system, controlling the R9 is much like using an Android Smartphone. Download apps via the Google Play store and you’ve got access to a vast range of top quality streaming services (subscriptions may apply).
Enhanced Bluetooth
The R9 is ideal as a bridge between your smartphone and wired headphones – especially as most smartphones no longer even feature a headphone socket. With a Qualcomm Bluetooth QCC5125 chip at its heart, the system is compatible with top quality formats, such as aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC, for High-Res music file support.
AirPlay and DLNA support
If you prefer the Apple ecosystem, then you can simply take advantage of the R9’s AirPlay support. With your iOS wirelessly connected you get to directly stream files, controlled via your Apple iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device. You can also stream music content from other devices on your network using the DNLA protocol.
Improved range of connections
The FiiO R9 improves upon the R7’s already impressive list of connection sockets. These now include two HDMIs, one of which has ARC (Audio Return Channel). These are perfect for connecting to your TV and games console or other device. Other inputs include optical and coaxial sockets that are ideal for sources such as a streamer and CD player. A USB host is perfect for connecting to your USB media device and streaming files. A micro-SD slot supports music files from cards with up to 2TB storage – enough for a vast collection of Hi-Res Audio music.
Use as a USB DAC for your computer or laptop
With its USB 3.0 Type-C connection and high quality ES9038PRO convertors, the R9 also makes a great standalone DAC for your computer. Much better than most PC soundcards, the R9 offers a great boost to your computer’s sound quality.
Output to any system
With its wide range of outputs, the R9 connects to just about any existing system or pair of active speakers. RCA line outputs provide a connection to the vast majority of devices. For digital AVRs and amps, there are also optical and coaxial digital outputs. Thanks to its XLR balanced outputs, the R9 even connects to studio-quality equipment, giving the best analogue connection possible.
