It might be the junior model within Onkyo’s premium RZ range, but there’s nothing basic about the Onkyo TX-RZ30. Tuned by Onkyo’s Sound Meister it delivers smooth, powerful sound across a wide frequency response. A full range of connectivity and streaming options suits a wide range of systems and keeps this Onkyo AVR ready for the future. The timeless design uses a lower profile case than other RZ models, making it easier to accommodate while still maintaining a clean and elegant style.
Dynamic Audio Amplification for ultra-wide frequency response
Featuring DAA (Dynamic Audio Amplification), the TX-RZ30 delivers effortlessly punchy sound. The ultra-wide frequency response goes deeper than that the non-RZ models, further extending the scale of sound. Combined with the High Current power supply and customised capacitors, it means the TX-RZ30 produces a thrilling sound that keeps you fully immersed in the action.
THX Certification Select2 – your guarantee of cinema quality sound
THX Certification Select2 means that the TX-RZ30 meets the tough standards set by THX for high-volume, low-distortion sound. Awarded to only the finest AV receivers, the TXRZ30’s powerful and dynamic cinema sound keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Be surrounded by sound, with a 9-channel output
For a wide choice of speaker configurations, this premium Onkyo AVR has nine powered channels. Choose between 7.2.2 or 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos speaker configurations with two or four ceiling speakers. Alternatively, stick with 5.2.2 and power a second pair of speakers in another room or bi-amp your main pair of speakers. As your system grows, so the capability of this Onkyo grows with it.
Wide range of 3D sound formats
Whatever speaker configuration you decide upon, the TX-RZ30 has a surround format to suit. Compatible formats include IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X plus Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Neural:X for up-mixed audio. This wide range of options means you can adapt your surround sound speaker system from the simplest system with ‘virtual height’ speakers to a full-blown 9.2 system with truly enveloping sound.
Acoustic room correction by DIRAC Live
Thanks to state-of-the-art digital room correction from DIRAC, the TX-RZ30 offers pro-level room optimisation. DIRAC live uses a USB microphone (not included) and dedicated PC software to take multiple readings around your room and feed the information back to the amplifier for a completely bespoke response (professional set-up recommended).
Klipsch Optimise Mode
Unique to Onkyo, the TX-RZ30 sounds even better when partnered with Klipsch Reference and Reference Premiere speakers. Collaboration between the two companies has resulted in the implementation of precise crossover vales being incorporated into the Onkyo. This means that you get optimised sound quality, at the touch of a button.
8K HDMI compatibility
From a total of six HDMI inputs, the TX-RZ30 features three, 8K compatible HDMI inputs and twin outputs (HDMI 2 output in Sub Mode only). They support 8K pass-through, 4K/120Hz and eARC, making them ideal for connecting an 8K TV, the latest games consoles and more. This Onkyo also supports the latest copy protection standard, HDCP 2.3.

As well as suiting 8K TVs, the HDMI interface also helps give your gaming a boost. This facilitates a range of features, including 4K/120Hz HDR pass-through for ultra-fast motion. VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) eliminates lag, stutter, and frame-tearing for fluid gameplay. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) optimizes latency from source to screen and QFT (Quick Frame Transport) limits lag for a smoother experience. Put together, they give you a massive gaming advantage.
Up to three zones, for multiroom flexibility
With a 5.2 channel cinema system in play, you can use the spare speaker channels to add two additional powered zones. Zone 2 and Zone 3 can either be synchronised with the main signal for ‘party’ sound or play from separate sources – giving the TX-RZ30 true multiroom appeal. A passive output for Zone 2 is also available should you already have amplification or active speakers in another room.
Stream it your way, with Apple AirPlay 2 and ‘Works with Sonos’
Much more than just an AV receiver, the TX-RZ30 is also a comprehensive music streamer. Apple AirPlay 2 is standard as is ‘Works with Sonos’. Integrated Amazon Music, Spotify (Premium account required for full features), TIDAL and Deezer are all available, too. There’s also Chromecast and DTS Play-Fi plus TuneIn for Internet radio and Bluetooth music streaming.
Works with Sonos
‘Works with Sonos’ certification means that this Onkyo seamlessly integrates with your existing Sonos system. Once connected to a compatible Sonos product (Sonos Port), you can group the receiver with other Sonos devices or use it independently. Working with Sonos means as soon as you start playing music from your Sonos app, the Onkyo switches on and automatically selects the correct input.
Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
For the latest in smart home tech, Onkyo have made the TX-RZ30 compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply connect your compatible device and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform basic functions. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.
DTS Play-Fi for effortless streaming and multi-room
DTS Play-Fi is a premium, wireless control system that brings everything under one 'roof'. Download the free app and you'll not only have access to Internet radio but also popular music apps such as Spotify, Tidal, Deezer and Napster.
