Product Information
Super-smooth and detailed images come naturally to the Optoma UHD42.
Clearly better, with 4K UHD resolution
With over eight million pixels, Ultra HD 4K resolution brings four times more detail than Full HD, delivering sharper, life-like images and richer colours. A further advantage of UHD 4K resolution is that, because the pixels are smaller, you can sit much closer to the screen. This makes the UHD42 ideal for rooms that previously might have been too small for a projector to work at its best.
Reveal hidden detail with HDR10 and HLG
Compatible with HDR10 video, the UHD42 lets you see far more detail and texture. HDR enhances the brightest and darkest sections of scenes – letting you see detail in what was previously a solid block of colour. It also makes the rest of the colour spectrum appear more natural, giving an even greater sense of ‘being there’. The UHD42 is also compatible with HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) – the high dynamic range developed for broadcasting.
Class-leading brightness for lights-on viewing
Boasting an outstanding brightness figure of 3400 ANSI Lumens, the UHD42 not only offers bright and vivid colours but is also able to be used in many lighting conditions. Even during daylight conditions with curtains or blinds open, the Optoma produces a watchable and detailed picture – thanks to its sensational brightness.
Colour – just as it should be
The UHD42 is capable of reproducing the Rec.709 colour gamut, the international HDTV standard to guarantee accurate reproduction of cinematic colour - exactly as the director intended. Enjoy watching films and TV shows and playing games with stunning colours in any environment.
Colour Management System (CMS)
Display accurate life-like colours to best match your viewing environment. This unique feature provides you with the flexibility to fine-tune the colour settings to the Rec. 709 standard for optimal precision.
Wall Colour Adjustment for optimised colour
Although a dedicated screen is always going to give the best results, the UHD42 offers Wall Colour Adjustment for when this isn’t possible. Six options let you adjust the image to suit blackboard, light yellow, light green, light blue, pink and grey walls.
Vertical lens shift
Simplify installation with vertical lens shift, which provides a wider range of projector placement possibilities. This makes it easier to position the projector in your room and enables a wider range of screen size options.
Gaming advantage
A trio of features make the UHD42 perfect for gaming. 240Hz smooth motion gives fluid motion and reduced delay – making fast-moving games a less nerve-racking experience. Game Mode optimises the projector’s contrast to produce vivid detail and maximum contrast – perfect for spotting the danger lurking in the shadows. With input lag reduced to 15.70ms, you can be assured lightning-fast response times.
Flexible connectivity, including twin HDMI sockets
Featuring twin HDMI sockets (one compatible with HDR), you can connect a UHD Blu-ray player and video streamer. For older sources, the UHD42 also comes with a VGA input – perfect for laptops and PCs. Multi-room connectivity is enhanced by an RS232 interface, plus there’s a 12v output for syncing with an electric screen. Audio is outputted via digital optical or analogue 3.5mm sockets.
USB power
Another great feature is the handy USB power output. This is used to power USB-powered smart devices, such as the Google’s Chromecast or a Roku TV stick. Plug Chromecast, or similar, in and you’ll have easy access to smart video and TV services without the need for any other device or lengthy connection cables.
Scale up your home entertainment, with the Optoma UHD42.
