Product Information
”For another year, Technics' compact just-add-speakers system rules the roost.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2024 award-winner.
Stylish, one-box system
The perfect partner for Technics’ turntables, the Technics SA-C600EB has everything you need, in one box – just add speakers. A punchy amplifier, CD player, DAB/FM tuner and a wide selection of network streaming options, make this the do-it-all music player. Technics hasn’t forgotten about their turntable heritage, either; there’s a MM phonostage built-in.
Sound that only Technics can produce
Featuring unique Technics technology, the SA-C600EB is designed for class-leading sound. Helping to reduce distortion to a minimum is Technics’ JENO (Jitter Elimination and Noise-shaping Optimization) engine. JENO seeks to optimise the signal by reducing harmful jitter and delivering precise signal processing.
Twin power supply for reduced background noise
Music is at its most effective when the silences are as quiet as possible. To get the best dynamic effect you need a quiet backdrop. For this reason, Technics use twin power supplies. With one power supply dedicated to the amplifier and a second to the other parts of the system, noise generated by the amplifier’s circuit doesn’t intrude on the rest of the system – helping to minimise background noise and distortion.
Suits every room with Space Tune
Download the Technics Audio Centre app (available for Apple iOS only) and you can tune the sound to suit your room’s acoustics. Alternatively, use one of the four presets for plug n’ play convenience. ‘Free’, ‘Wall’, ‘Corner’ and ‘Shelf’ settings tailor the sound to suit.
Advanced networking including Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth
Built-in Chromecast is the perfect partner for your Android smartphone. It gives easy access to a vast range of music and podcast apps, all intuitively controllable from your smartphone. Built-in Apple AirPlay 2 means that you can stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly. Bluetooth gives quick and easy access for friends to play music from their phone or for when the wi-fi might be down.
Streaming music from the favourites
Compatible with Spotify, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Deezer and featuring Internet radio, the SA-C600EB gives you easy access to a near unlimited supply of streaming music.
Multi-room compatible
Featuring the latest streaming tech, there are two ways the SA-C600EB adapts to multi-room. Choose between systems with other Apple AirPlay 2 or Chromecast speakers in the system. In addition, use the Technics Audio Centre app and link up other compatible Technics devices using Chromecast.
Top quality CD player and DAB/FM tuner
Taking centre stage, a Perspex plate opens to reveal a high quality CD player. Using their decades of experience with CD players, Technics have produced a super-smooth sounding and highly detailed player. Although the Technics system is a fully equipped streamer it certainly hasn’t forgotten about your silver discs; playing them to their best ability. Thanks to the built-in DAB/FM tuner, you can also access all your local and national radio stations, too.
Turntable input
As you’d expect from a brand with such a strong heritage in turntables, the Technics SA-C600EB features a built-in phonostage. This lets you plug in any MM cartridge equipped turntable, without needing an extra phono pre-amp. Using a dedicated power supply, the high quality phonostage produces a dynamic sound, with high resistance to distortion.
The centre for other sources
As well as built-in streaming, radio and CD player, the SA-C600EB acts as the hub of your system. RCA analogue, optical and coaxial digital inputs are ideal for connecting your TV, games console, set-top box or any other digital or analogue source. For streaming music from your PC, there’s a USB-B interface at the rear. The USB-A socket at the front is ideal for connecting USB memory devices.
For a system that does more, take a listen to the Technics SA-C600EB.
”The Diamond 12.1s are excellent speakers for the money and deserve a place on the shortlist.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review.
The legend continues
It was way back in 1982 when the Wharfedale Diamond first redefined expectations of small speakers. The original model proved that a small speaker didn't necessarily need to sound 'small', that a budget speaker could sound full-bodied without being intrusive. The latest Diamond 12.1 is true to the original’s ethos and has already proved to be a big hit.
Flexible speaker
The beauty with compact Diamond speakers is their sheer versatility - and the 12.1 is no different. The compact size and high sensitivity makes them the ideal companion for mini systems or hi-fi separates systems alike. They're also easy to place, working well close to or away from the rear wall. If you're looking for quality home cinema speakers, they also work exceptionally well as satellite speakers - there's even a centre speaker to match.
Ground-up redesign
Although this is a compact speaker with all the Diamond traits in place, the design is completely new. Making use of powerful computer modelling, the Diamond 12.1 is engineered to perform. Totally new drive units use a motor system more typically used in professional speakers – giving excellent power handling and low distortion. The new Klarity cone material uses a hybrid construction to give lightning-fast response in the bass and mid-range, while the woven textile tweeter delivers the perfect balance between detail and refinement.
Choice of finishes
Available in black, light oak or walnut finishes, the 12.1 suits a wide range of decors. The cabinet itself is engineered from differing thicknesses of MDF to control resonance. Combined with the strategic bracing, this makes it solid and free from the distorting ‘boxy’ sound that can afflict smaller speakers. In short, you get to hear the soul of your music, distortion-free.
With a fresh new design, the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 is still the small speaker to beat.
