Mini LED TVs use LED backlights that are around one-fortieth of the size of regular LEDs. With them being smaller, many more LEDs are used, giving greater control of the backlighting. Greater control means better contrast with much deeper blacks. You get greater picture depth, more realistic colour plus all the usual LED TV advantages of fast response time and low power consumption.
