Product Information
Following on from a best-selling award-winner, the Wharfedale Super Linton speakers take heritage style to new heights.
Linton made Super
The original Wharfedale Linton speaker was not only highly reviewed but also the company’s best seller. With the Super Linton, Wharfedale has taken all that’s great about the original, including its heritage style and easy-to-drive characteristics and made it better. A new cabinet, crossover and tweeter enhance every aspect of the sound, while a revised bass woofer helps deliver an even deeper bass response.
Larger cabinet and improved bass
With the same footprint but a slightly taller height, the new cabinets offer increased internal volume. Combined with the bass woofer’s more powerful motor, this gives the Super Lintons a deeper and more dynamic bass response. The cabinet also uses Wharfedale’s dual layer cabinet construction, reducing panel resonance for a more natural and less distorted sound.
All-new tweeter for crisper treble response
The Super Linton’s new high-frequency unit inherits much of its design from Wharfedale’s flagship Dovedale speakers. The new soft dome unit features a special damping chamber for smoother sound and less harmonic distortion. The revised tweeter mounting plate enhances the dispersion for an even more spacious and immersive sound.
New internal electronics
As well as improving what you can see, Wharfedale has also improved what you can’t. Inside each speaker is a completely new crossover design that’s now split into two separate boards. This eradiates the possibility of electromagnetic interference from the bass affecting the sensitive higher frequencies, helping promote a cleaner top-end response. Top-tier components are used throughout, as is LCOFC (Linear Crystal Oxygen Free Copper) cabling for optimal signal transfer.
Works seamlessly with a wide range of hi-fi
Just as with the originals, the Wharfedale Super Linton speakers are highly efficient, making them easy to drive. The 90dB sensitivity means that even amps with around 20 watts or more can power the Super Linton speakers to room-filling levels. This means that you can effectively use the speakers with premium quality mini systems, as well as lower powered hi-fi amps.
Classic style
Taller and wider than contemporary standmount speakers, the Super Lintons have a unique presence. That ‘big box’ style is successfully offset by the real wood finishes and revised grille material, making them less intrusive in your room than you might expect. The bigger, boxier design also means deep, effortless bass.
Choice of luxury finishes
Available in a choice of black oak, walnut or mahogany real wood veneers, these speakers are finished to the highest standards and blend effortlessly with high quality furniture. The optional speaker stands are also finished to match, giving harmonious style.
Get the best of traditional style and modern sound, with the highly evolved Wharfedale Super Linton.
