Powerful sound Using high specification, custom-made components, the Yamaha AS701 has been designed to fill even the largest rooms with rich, dynamic sound. An uprated power supply with dual heat sinks ensures that the AS701 can produce a loud and punchy sound without the risk of overheating. Put together, these features give the 100W Yamaha a majestic sound with the scale and range of a much more expensive amp.
Sound first The AS701 is constructed with Yamaha's ToP-ART and ART principles. Top-ART design ensures that left and right channels are perfectly symmetrical, with signal paths as short as possible. This results in the highest precision and lowest distortion. Complementing this is ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) construction. Its reinforced casing and damped base reduce mechanical vibration, so improving the sound's precision and detail. A Pure Direct switch bypasses the tone and balance controls for an even more detailed, true-to-life sound quality.
CD direct amplification Taking Pure Direct sound one stage further than the AS501, the bigger Yamaha also comes fitted with CD Direct Amplification. Dedicated to the CD input only, once engaged, this optimises the input circuitry for a cleaner, tauter sound. Subtle detail becomes more apparent and the music sounds that bit more natural.
Digital inputs and Bluetooth With hi-fi systems being asked to handle more and more digital sources, Yamaha has equipped the AS701 to cope with ease. It has both optical and coaxial digital inputs for your TV, CD player or other source with digital output. Taking this one stage further, add the optional Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth receiver and you'll be able to effortlessly link up your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth-equipped device, giving you simple, wireless music streaming.
Plenty of connections In addition to the digital connections, the A-S701 comes with a broad range of other sockets. Five line level inputs, two recording loops and a phono input for your turntable, plus a subwoofer output make for plenty of options. There are two sets of separately switched speaker sockets and a headphone output too. A remote control that will also operate other Yamaha devices is also included.
